Photographs( we were never modern)
This is a series of photographs in which I take the record of the colony where I live, a place at the foot of Santa Fe known as “el Piru”, popular neighborhood where poor and drug addiction are a daily thing. These images serve me in various ways in my creative process, as an archive of the environment, and at the same time as a sculptural social material by incorporating it into my new works where I juxtapose photographs in interstitial spaces such as contemporary art museums in where we only see works of art and the non-modern social part as is this case is forgotten.
Esta es una serie de fotografías en donde tomo el registro de la colonia donde yo vivo, un barrio a las faldas de Santa fe conocido como “el Piru”, barrio popular en donde la pobresa y la drogadicción son cosa de todos los días. Estas imagenes me sirven de varias formas en mi proceso creativo, como archivo del entorno, y al mismo tiempo como material social escultórico al incorporarlo a mis nuevas obras en donde yuxtapongo las fotografías en espacios intersticiales como son museos de arte contemporáneo en donde solo vemos obras de arte y la parte social no moderna como es este caso es olvidada.
