RESIDENCIA ARTPROJECT es una plataforma curatorial y artística que se concibe como un puente entre la producción artística nacional e Internacional y el contexto local de La Residencia Condos, ubicada en Playa del Carmen en el estado de Quintana Roo en México.
El proyecto consta de residencias, estudios abiertos, showroom, múltiples ediciones y otros eventos que se sumarán próximamente.
Los principales objetivos de RESIDENCIA ART PROJECT son apoyar la producción nacional de arte contemporáneo, así como fomentar el coleccionismo de arte en el Caribe mexicano, zona que gracias a sus paisajes se convierte en un lugar privilegiado para la reflexión y experimentación artística.
Para la Edición de septiembre 2022- enero 2023 fue invitado el Artista Carlos Santos (México, 1983), el cual presenta su proyecto “Condiciones Opuestas/ Opposite Conditions”. instalación inmersiva en todo el espacio expositivo donde explora la idea de Tensión, cuerpo y contexto, al crear una red con hilos que se entretejen en el espacio como si de una gran telaraña se tratase.
Santos es un artista mexicano que vive y trabaja entre Tulum, Quinta Roo y su casa-estudio ubicado en las faldas del Pueblo Santa Fe en CDMX. En forma de pinturas, dibujos, esculturas, instalaciones, bordados o fotografías, su trabajo explora las intersecciones entre la mente y el cuerpo humano, el entorno natural y la materia industrial, así como las implicaciones políticas y estéticas de sus contextos sociales. En su proceso artístico, Santos extrae materiales de su contexto urbano, entorno natural y/o de su propia mente y cuerpo. Así, examina las posibilidades expresivas de los materiales mismos, su vitalidad y los diversos modos por los que se transforman física y discursivamente. Destacan en la muestra nuevos tapetes realizados durante la pandemia covid-19 a modo de colaboración Relacional con su hermano Jovanny Santos, al mismo tiempo que teje lazos afectivos familiares y explora de idea del proceso del arte como individuación (Carl G. Jung), a nivel general se entiende individuación como el proceso mediante el cual una persona se convierte en un individuo integrado, llegando a ser uno mismo y alcanzando la capacidad de ser totalmente autónomo e independiente.

For the September 2022- January 2023 Edition, the Artist Carlos Santos (Mexico, 1983) was invited, presenting his project “Opposite Conditions”. immersive installation throughout the exhibition space where he explores the idea of Tension, body and context.
Santos is a Mexican artist who lives and works between Tulum, Quinta Roo and his house-studio located in the foothills of Pueblo Santa Fe in CDMX. In the form of paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, embroidery or photographs, her work explores the intersections between the human mind and body, the natural environment and industrial matter, as well as the political and aesthetic implications of their social contexts. In his artistic process, Santos draws materials from his urban context, natural environment and/or from his own mind and body. Thus, he examines the expressive possibilities of materials themselves, their vitality and the various ways in which they are physically and discursively transformed. The exhibition highlights new rugs made during the covid-19 pandemic as a collaboration with his brother Jovanny Santos, while weaving family affective ties and exploring the idea of the process of art as individuation (Carl G. Jung), at a general level individuation is understood as the process by which a person becomes an integrated individual, becoming oneself and reaching the ability to be totally autonomous and independent.
